Embedded in a gentle hill landscape of Austria, called Waldviertel, you will find the Hütte Klein-Reichenbach (HKB). In the year 1892 the enterprise was created as a brickwork. It was redesigned in the sixties to a secondary aluminium plant. Since this time, HKB acts as a manufacturer and sales company for deoxidation – aluminium for the steel industry and masteralloys for aluminium producers. Deoxidation-Aluminium is used in the steel industry for the calming (reducing the oxygen) of the steel. Masteralloys are used for “analyses control” during the aluminium production. Our products are supplied in the shape of granules (hemispheres), pyramidal ingots (one-piece dress and multidivisor) and sows. Beyond that we are concerned with the development and manufacturing of METCOMB® aluminium foam. The production of 25.000 tons per year is done by 35 coworkers.
